About Jody, a third generation florist

As a third generation florist, I grew up learning the intimate details of floral design.  When I was a small child, I watched bouquets and arrangements being created in the fragrant backroom of my Great Grandmother's flower shop (Alma Boyd Florist) in Detroit, Michigan. After we sold the shop, my family left Detroit and bought a small farm where we raised goats.  The farm inspired a childhood filled with picking wild raspberries and exploring the moss sodden backwoods on our property.

My designs combine a unique, lush collection of flowers and foliage sourced from local farms and the incredible markets around the world to create beautiful, romantic and textural arrangements.

Flower & Business Philosophy

No matter the size of the event, each client that chooses to work with me gets my full attention and care.  I believe that most importantly, my business is about the clients that invite me to share in their lives most special moments. At J. Costello Designs, we also really care about the impact of our business on the environment and while we’re not perfect (yet!), we take steps towards sustainability by composting, being “foam free” and make buying American grown a priority.

J. Costello Designs is a proud member of the Slow Flowers Society, a community of individuals who are committed to using seasonal and sustainably grown flowers!
